My message for Armed Forces Day, 29th June 2013.

In the 21st century, the threats against Britain are constantly evolving. In the 21st century, however, our troops determination knows no bounds and is unchanging.

In the past few years, post 9-11 & 7/7, we have learnt that our country is not safe, our lives are nothing but numbers to those that wish to destroy us. But our troops determination, courage & strength remains steadfast.

It has not been easy. I am sure that no soldier wants to ever take a life but we have been left with no choice but to fight. But now, the threats we face, especaially AQ, are on the run. We are winning. All that sacrafice, blood, sweat & tears have not been in vain.

We have lost many along the way (list of casualities;http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10629358 and also here; http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2007/feb/05/iraq.military1) and we will remember their sacrafice forever. Unfortunately, we may lose many more but I know one thing for sure;

Our troops will never surrender, will never waivor, and they will never lose their determination, courage & strength.

Our survival depends on them and they know it, and they are willing to pay the ultimate price for it. For that, I am eternally grateful.

So, on Armed Forces Day this Saturday 29th June 2013 let us stand together. Let us show those who wish to destroy us that we are united, strong and we will prevail.

Thank you for protecting our Kingdom, our freedoms & our lives.

I am not a religious person but I know many of our forces may be so may God be with you every step of the way & we look forward to welcoming you all home. Image
